Exhibitor case study: Buzzbox
Stuart Spice is a director of buzzbox, a provider of innovative business phone systems. Stuart has been exhibiting at The Business Show for seven years, so we wanted to quiz him about how he finds exhibiting at the show.
Q: Tell us a little bit about your company.
A: buzzbox is an office phone system packed with great features like call recording, interactive menus and call statistics that gives you unlimited extensions, industry beating call rates and no monthly line rental.
Q: How did you first get involved with The Business Show?
A: I first got involved around seven years ago with Mr Site and we have exhibited every year since.
Q: What sort of presence did you have at The Business Show?
A: We had a standalone area where people could sit down, relax and try our products over a coffee. We also sponsored the innovative and successful Business Connections zone, where people could leave their contact details on a posting board in order to find suppliers or offer services. Finally, we also had a stand at the SMP Live show that ran simultaneously.
Q: What were you hoping to achieve by exhibiting at The Business Show?
A: We were hoping to raise brand awareness and also get an opportunity to look at the marketplace. We were also hoping to pick up business from the show.
Q: What are your thoughts on the visitors that attended?
A: The visitor volume was superb; extremely busy both days, with barely a moment to breathe. The visitors were keen to explore the show and engage with the stands and seminar speakers. Of those that we spoke to, all were very keen and professionally minded, with genuine interest in the product about which they were enquiring.
Q: How did you find the practical aspects like transportation, setting up, and onsite facilities?
A: Access was very straightforward, with ample time to set up and take down. We used a van and there were no issues regarding access or parking.
Q: Did you get any new leads from exhibiting?
A: Yes. We gained lots of leads which also converted into sales. We were very impressed.
Q: With over 21,000 attendees and 350 exhibitors, is there a cost benefit in meeting all your contacts under one roof?
A: Certainly there is a captive audience that you are able to speak to both directly and indirectly. This is very efficient and can be recommended.
Q: Overall, how would you evaluate your experience? Will you be exhibiting again?
A: I was very pleased overall with the experience and would love an opportunity to exhibit again.
